Whole Wheat Applesauce Bread                           Nancy Harrison
(Makes three loaves)

Ingredients

25-oz jar of applesauce
1½ c hot water
6 c whole wheat flour
2 T salt
½ c oil
6 c white flour
½ c honey (or brown sugar)

Directions:
1.     
     Mix applesauce, hot water, honey/sugar, salt and oil; add whole wheat flour; mix well and let sit for 20 minutes
2.    Soften yeast in warm water; add to flour mixture and blend
3.    Add enough white flour to make a moderately stiff dough
4.    Turn out on floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.  Place in greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled – 1 ½ hours
5.    Form into 3 loaves, place in loaf pans and let rise for 45 min; bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes; brush tops with butter.
