Peanut Butter Cake Linda Allen
Ingredients:
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp.soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
1&1/2 sticks
margarine
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. peanut butter
Directions
Preheat oven to
350.
In large bowl mix together flour, sugar, soda
and salt. In saucepan combine oil, margarine, peanut butter and water, bring to
a boil. Pour hot mixture over dry ingredients and mix well. Add buttermilk,
vanilla and eggs. Pour into 12X18" sheet pan and bake 15-20 minutes.
Sometimes I bake it a little longer 3 or 4 minutes.
Frosting: In saucepan combine 1/3
c. milk, 1/2 c. peanut butter, 1 stick margarine and 1 tsp. vanilla. Bring to a
boil; add 1 lb. powdered sugar; beat well.
Frost warm cake.
This recipe comes from my sister, Linda. It’s very
popular at church potlucks and large gatherings. Everyone loves it from 8 – 80!
