Barbeque Ribs, Rub and SauceNancy Harrison
I have several
recipes for BBQ Sauce for ribs which I will include below.
No matter how I
prepare the ribs – on the grill, smoker or oven, I use this spice rub from my
son David Widlund
You can make any
amount using these instructions:
Spice Rub:
2 parts ground
mustard
2 parts paprika
1/2 part coarse
salt
1 part ground
black pepper
1 part brown sugar
To taste: cloves,
cayenne, chili powder, cinnamon, etc.
Sweet ‘n’ Spicy
BBQ Sauce
1 cup ketchup⅓ cup apricot preserve
Mix all
ingredients together in a mixing bowl
Sweet Barbecue
Sauce
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon molasses
BBQ Sauce
1 ½ c catsup
1 c packed brown
sugar
¼ cup apple cider
vinegar
½ c warm water
1 TB molasses
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground
pepper
½ tsp cinnamon
Mix all ingredients
in a small saucepan and heat gently until thick and glossy
Whatever cooking
method you use and whichever sauce you prepare, do not add the BBQ sauce until
the very end of the cooking and let it cook only 10-15 minutes. Serve extra on the
table.
