Candy Cane Cookies Eula
Ham
½ c shortening
½ c butter
1 cup sifted powdered
sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ c flour
1 tsp salt
Instructions:
Cream shortening
and sugar, add egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
Divide dough in half; tint one half red. Roll 1 tsp white and red dough; roll
into 4” strips. Place strips side-by-side on baking sheet; press together
lightly and twist together like a rope; curve the top down to form the handle
of the cane. Bake a 375* for 9 minutes. Allow to cool on pan then remove with
spatula being careful not to break the canes.
Frost with a
powdered sugar icing and sprinkle with a mixture of crushed candy canes and
sugar – ½ cup each.
