Oatmeal Cake




Oatmeal Cake                                                                     Aunt Betty

Ingredients:

1 c quick cooking oatmeal
½ c shortening
1 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
 1 1/3 c all purpose flour
1 tsp soda
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
 ½ c chopped nuts

Instructions:

Pour 1 ¼ c boiling water over oats and let stand and cool ½ hour. Mix other ingredients in order given and blend thoroughly. Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan for 40 minutes at 350*. We prefer this unfrosted and warm.
