Nancy’s Chili Nancy Harrison
Ingredients
4 lbs hamburger,
browned and drained of excess grease
1 large onion,
chopped
3-4 cloves of
garlic, chopped
1 large bottle
tomato juice
2 cans crushed or
diced tomatoes
4 cans red kidney
beans
3-4 tablespoons
chili powder
2-3 tablespoons
ground cumin
Cayenne pepper to
taste
2 tablespoons
Mexican oregano
2 cans chopped
green chilis
Salt and pepper to
taste
Instructions:
Brown meat and
onion, drain, add garlic; then add juice and tomatoes, spices and simmer at
least an hour or put into slow cooker on low and allow it to cook for as long
as you want – it gets better the longer it cooks.
(Note: This is great with ground turkey as
well!)
Toppings are optional:
Grated Cheddar
Cheese
Sour Cream
Tortilla strips
Jalapenos
Sliced avocados
Chopped onions
Chopped Tomatoes
Serve with flour
tortillas, corn bread or tortilla chips
